My Story

Forecast for Arctic: A Cool but Cozy Companion! Expect a gentle flurry of affection from Arctic, a stunning 5-year-old pure white cat with a heart as warm as a well-insulated cabin. She brings sunny spells of sweetness and friendliness, but when the winds shift, she sets clear but polite boundaries—a true master of knowing when enough is enough. While we’re unsure how she feels about other animals, Arctic may need a gradual warm-up period before feeling completely at ease. If you're looking for a feline forecast that includes soft cuddles with a chance of independence, Arctic might just be your perfect climate! Arctic is FIV+, which means she has a compromised immune system, but don’t let that cloud your outlook—most FIV+ cats live a normal lifespan with good care. The virus is only spread through deep bite wounds, so she can live with other cats as long as they’re non-aggressive, spayed/neutered, and not prone to fighting. That said, we’re not sure if Arctic even wants feline roommates, so she may prefer a peaceful, one-cat forecast. If you're looking for a feline forecast that includes soft cuddles with a chance of independence, Arctic might just be your perfect climate! Meet and greet/adoption appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! DON'T FORGET! Cats often do better with a friend! All our cats and kittens have an "Adopt one and the 2nd at half the adoption fee!" bonus!!! Our kitten/cat adoption fees vary on age, special needs, lonely heart status (cats that have been with us 6+ months), and for our senior to seniors program. Our adoption fees include the following: all of our cats/kittens are current on vaccinations (FVRCP series and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), treated for fleas/ticks/earmites in addition to being spayed or neutered once the cat reaches 2 lbs in weight. All cats and kittens adopted from the shelter are microchipped. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all cats leaving the shelter be in a carrier. All pets are up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee is paid.
