My Story

Meet Ares: A Resilient Senior Seeking a Loving Home Ares is a distinguished 11-year-old long-haired black cat adorned with striking white markings. His journey has been one of resilience; found wandering in a rural area, he bore the scars of numerous battles, with open wounds covering his body. After months of dedicated treatment and care, Ares has healed and is now ready to find his forever home where he can enjoy his golden years. Due to his past, Ares occasionally experiences a watery right eye. This condition is manageable with regular gentle wiping using unscented, pet-friendly wipes to keep him comfortable. Ares thrives on human attention and adores being brushed—a necessity, as he doesn't groom himself thoroughly. Regular brushing sessions and occasional professional grooming will keep his luxurious coat in top condition. As a result of all he’s been through, It's important to note that Ares is FIV-positive. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) affects a cat's immune system, making them more susceptible to infections. However, FIV-positive cats can live long, healthy lives with proper care. The virus is primarily transmitted through deep bite wounds, so as long as Ares coexists peacefully with other cats, the risk of transmission is minimal. FIV is not transmissible to humans or other non-feline animals. Ares is not fond of dogs and is selective with other cats. A slow and careful introduction to any feline companions is essential to ensure a harmonious relationship. This resilient feline is ready to share his love and companionship with a family that appreciates his journey and is committed to providing the care he deserves. If you're looking to add a gentle and affectionate senior cat to your home, Ares could be the perfect match.
