We believe every pet deserves a happy new beginning with a family who loves them. To better help all of the pets in our care find loving homes, our adoption fees are based on a sliding scale. This sliding scale helps us provide increased adoption opportunities for those pets--like Selena or Hardy-- who historically have a harder time standing out in the shelter by reducing their fees and/or funding their treatment and care to provide them with lifesaving second chances. This means that highly desirable pets, like Asher, may have an increased adoption fee to offset those costs. Highly adoptable animals never struggle to find homes quickly regardless of their fees, so these increased fees directly helps pets like seniors, pets with medical needs, heartworm positive dogs, and many others by allowing us to reduce their adoption fees and pay for treatments to get them ready to find the happy new beginnings they deserve. When you adopt a pet with a higher adoption fee, like Asher, not only are you making a life-saving difference for the pet you are bringing into your family, but you are helping to save the lives of other pets in need who need a little extra help to find their new beginnings as well!
