My Story

This is Baza, a sweet special needs kitty that seeks a miracle...someone who is willing to adopt her and love her for the rest of her life, despite her condition. Baza was unfortunately hit by a car, which she somehow survived, but the accident damaged her spinal cord which left her with the inability to control her bladder and bowels. She can still walk but with a limp, and the accident brought on a seizure disorder which is controlled by medication. Baza is a sweet, loving kitty who gets along with other cats, dogs and all people. Her owner should be someone who has the patience and capability to own a special needs cat. Her future owner should be someone that has had some history and/or experience with a special needs pet. Baza will likely always need to wear diapers which requires additional maintenance and grooming to prevent infections from developing. She is approximately two years old and has been fully vetted, vaccinated (rabies and distemper), blood tested negative for feline viral infections; FIV/FLeV, microchipped and treated for fleas/ticks/dewormed. All potential adopters must complete an adoption application to be considered as an adopter for any cat. As you can imagine all of our international purebred and purebred mix cats are very popular and we receive a significant amount of inquiries and applicants. All applicants that pass our first screening will be asked for the submission of two personal references as well as a veterinary reference (if you owned a pet previously). We will also request that you share interior photos or a video home tour if an in-person tour cannot be arranged. If you lease your home we would need to see that cats are permissible under your lease agreement. Once this is complete a phone interview will then be set up with you to discuss in greater detail the adoption process and the cat(s) you are interested in adopting. **If you have other pets, we need to ensure they are comfortable with cats and that you have a plan and the means to keep the new cat separated from the other pets until they all can adjust. Adoption applications can be submitted online; https://savingfancycats.org/adoption-application Please allow 2 - 4 business days following your application submission to receive a response from us. Please check your spam/junk folders as our email response can often be flagged. **We can only respond to those adopters that we believe are the best potential match for the cat(s). As an all-volunteer rescue organization with limited time and resources, we are unable to respond to inquiries about available cats for adoption WITHOUT a submitted application. If a cat is posted on our website, he/she is still available for adoption and we have not lined up an adopter at this time. Please complete an application if you'd like to learn more about any of our available cats. Thank you for your understanding! **Can't adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring one or more of the cats on our petfinder page so that we can assist our rescue partners with food and litter and proper veterinary care.
