Big, bushy Bear arrived at Safe Haven Humane Society when his dad had no choice except to surrender the sweet boy when he became homeless. It was a sad day for both of them and it took Bear a good while to adjust to shelter life. He started out by being depressed and hissy toward volunteers, but when he turned the corner, we discovered a sweet, affectionate ball of fluff. As we then had many opportunities to pet him, we detected lots of mats in his beautiful thick coat. A trip to the Vets resulted in the dreaded ‘lion cut’, which is really pretty adorable on our big Bear, and he feels much more comfortable. This nine year old charmer will be very happy as the only pet in a quiet home where he can curl up next to you and enjoy pets while you watch your favorite show, or sport, or read a book.
