My Story

*** Bebo is in a foster home. *** Bebo: solid white w/black, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 9/1/22, #18644 Cats: prefers a playmate! Dogs: unknown Children: older kids BACKGROUND: Bebo was found in Mexicali suffering from a severe facial wound with a jaw that was broken in three places; he was emaciated because he couldn't move his jaw well enough to hunt and he could barely eat. Networking got Bebo to The Rescue House and a veterinary oral specialist, but the misaligned bones had already fused and it was beyond surgical correction. What could be done was removing the hindering teeth so he could move his tongue in order to eat better. With those out of the way and given water-softened pate canned food, he steadily gained weight and began to thrive! Now Bebo is hoping to find a person to love him forever. PERSONALITY: Bebo is a very playful and energetic bicolor-eyed boy! He loves feather wand toys and will jump around for them. He's fond of heights and likes the uppermost perch of his comfy cat tower. Confident and charming, Bebo can be carried like a baby and loves getting his ears scratched. In fact, a snug hug in that position is just the ticket for him and he finds it comforting to be pressed against your chest; this is also handy since he can sometimes need a bit of chest fur cleanup... he can't completely close his mouth due to the misaligned jaw and is therefore something of a drooler and can be a bit messy when eating (he has some lingering stubborn fur stains). He's got a cute tongue, though, and you get to see it a lot! Bebo is a friendly and talkative kitty who responds to his name: he uses his throat and chest more to meow, but he likes to vocalize and good conversations are just part of the loving companionship he offers his person. COMPATIBILITY: Bebo enjoys other cats and will do best in a home where he has feline friends as well as plenty of stimulating playtime. We don't know his thoughts on dogs. He would do best with older children who are past the toddler age. Bebo went through a lot before coming to The Rescue House. While his traumatic injury has left him with some accommodation needs for the jaw deformity, he is medically sound and his spirit has never faltered. Will you match his love and get a lifetime of joy with this sweetie?
