My Story
Bertie is a playful, curious, and clever kitten with a calm and sweet presence that endears her to everyone she meets. She's equally social with other cats, making her a wonderful addition to a multi-pet household.
This smart little explorer loves crinkle toys, feathered toys, and fake mice. She's always one of the first to investigate new puzzles or toys, showing off her sharp mind and playful spirit. Bertie also enjoys climbing and scratching, so a home with cat trees and scratching posts will be her playground.
While Bertie adores playtime with her siblings and tumbles through kitten antics, she's just as content sitting quietly with her mama, soaking up the calm moments. Her even-tempered and gentle nature makes her a versatile companion who can adapt to both active and relaxed environments.

While we do allow out-of-state adoptions, the adopter must be able to travel to Charlottesville, Virginia, and meet in person at an agreed-upon time to take their cat home.
GDU does ask for a minimum adoption donation of $125.00 for cats. This minimum donation does not cover all expenses as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes age-appropriate vaccines and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound and is unable to undergo surgery. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover each animal's expenses while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals.
