Bindi's leg bone and muscles were exposed and you could smell the infection. Thankfully she was not septic, but had severe nerve damage and the leg could not be saved. The surgery was very risky for a little one-pounder, but obviously Bindi is a fighter and she had a great surgeon and care staff. Bindi is now weighing in at 5 pounds, normal for her age.
