Biscuit

Biscuit was a momma in our shelter who came to us severely underweight and dehydrated trying to nurse her babies in the August heat. She was unsure about the indoor life at first. She would hiss whenever we got close to her kennel while she was nursing her babies, but it was odd. She didn't look territorial or threatened. In fact, she was making biscuits and nursing her babies- just simply greeting us with a hiss as we walked by her. Making biscuits was how she got her name actually, since that's all she ever did when she first came in. As we got to know her better, we figured out that she simply just didn't know how to meow like a regular cat. After some time in the shelter, she has found her voice and has become quite the chirper. She loves being vocal, walking around the shelter as if she owns it, and running the operation behind the scenes. She doesn't do too well with other adults in the shelter right now, but she's not aggressive with them. She just likes to tell them what she thinks about them and she's got a lot to say. She's very playful and loves to find a good hiding spot to watch everything going down. She loves rubbing up against your legs and demanding pets. She likes talking to toys and telling them what she thinks about them before attacking them. All in all, now that she's found her voice, she's definitely going to use it.
