My Story
Meet Candy Cane! Candy Cane is a gorgeous 1 year old female tabby with stunning swirl patterns in her fur, making her as unique as her name. She's had a tough journey-adopted as a kitten in January 2024 along with her brother Holly, she thought she'd found her forever home. But one year later, she was returned to a shelter without explanation, leaving her heartbroken and confused.
Now re-rescued and back with her original foster, Candy Cane is slowly learning to trust again. Her foster family describes her as sweet, curious, and affectionate, with a love for head scratches and exploring her surroundings. While she's still a bit nervous and shy, her gentle personality shines through.
Candy Cane is litter box trained and impeccably behaved. She's unsure about other cats at the moment, but with time and care, she'll grow into a confident, loving companion.
If you're ready to give Candy Cane the loving home she deserves, she'll fill your life with joy and gratitude.
Candy Cane is currently located at our Cat Habitat in the PetSmart in Plainville, CT.
The adoption fee for adult cats is $100. All of our cats come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, combo tested, microchipped, up to date on flea and tick preventative, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the pet you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."
