My Story

Meet Checkers! This dapper black-and-white tuxedo cat is about one year old and ready to bring some fun and games into your life. Named after the classic board game, Checkers is just as entertaining—he’s friendly, playful, and always up for a good time. Abandoned alongside another cat, Checkers was rescued by Chasing Sunshine Dog Rescue. Though we typically focus on dogs, we couldn’t leave this sweet boy without a chance at a happy ending. If you’re looking for a companion who’s always ready to “play,” Checkers could be your perfect match. Get ready for hours of fun, lots of love, and a winning streak of joy with this delightful tuxedo cat! The Chasing Sunshine Dog Rescue adoption donation for a cat is $295.00. This includes: spay/neuter (at our vet), vaccines , microchip, health certificate, fecal test and our cats are on preventatives for fleas/ticks/heartworm. Out of state adopters must also pay for an interstate health certificate to their state. (This is typically around $75.00) To apply to adopt one of our cats fill out our adoption application at this link: https://form.jotform.com/ChasingSunshine/Chasing-Sunshine-Adoption-App For questions email: [email protected] Check out our website at www.chasingsunshinedogrescue.org We are also on Facebook, TikTok & Instagram Chasing Sunshine Dog Rescue Inc. is recognized as a section 501(c)3 non profit organization. All donations are 100% tax deductible. We receive no public funding and exist entirely on generous donations. ( And we are SO very grateful for them.)
