My Story

Meet your new buddy, Cheddar Bob! He is a huge, cuddly dude with "big head butt energy." He has an adorable "meow" which he uses to let you know that he is looking for head scratches. Cheddar Bob greets new people with a funny series of chatty meows, lots of head butts and his signature loud purring. He also purrs loudly while he is playing with string, a game that drives him absolutely, hilariously wild. Cheddar Bob has been through a lot lately. He started life as a shelter cat, but like so many unfortunate pets, his owner dumped him outside. He lived on the street and then bounced between multiple foster homes. He is ready to finally settle down with his people and just be loved for who he is! When it comes to other cats, CB is a total chicken. He could probably share space with one or two other cats if introduced properly and given the time and space to warm up. He loves attention so much that he would appreciate being the only cat in the house! Cheddar Bob spent time on the street and he had to learn how to stand up for himself. When he's had enough tail scratches, he will let you know by nipping your hand (or if he is feeling lazy, he just opens his mouth and stares at you...) He doesn't like having his belly touched and requires that you respect his boundaries. Because of this, he should go to a home without small children. His adopter should have previous cat-owning experience. Cheddar Bob has been battling with allergies and has some patchy hair-loss at the moment. We are working hard to find solutions to his itchy problem, including oral medications and novel protein (non-prescription) cat food. Cheddar Bob's parent(s) must be willing to continue treatment and help him regain a healthy comfort level. Cheddar Bob takes pills easily and likes his new dry food. If you want an #orangecat with some very silly orange cat quirks, you have found your man. Cheddar Bob is so much fun to play with and very amusing to watch. (He's not your average orange guy, though: he has striking black freckles on his nose, and one strange mini-toe on his back foot!) He is a big, snuggly lug who functions very well as a weighted blanket during these cold, wintery days. Adopting Cheddar Bob would mean that for the first time in his life, he could let his guard down, relax, and make himself at home. He deserves that and so much more. It is likely that he will blossom into a fully happy-go-lucky guy when he's finally at his forever home.
