Clarice is a cat person’s cat! She’s a sassy, playful, super affectionate girl about 4 years old who knows what she wants… and isn’t afraid to tell you about it! She definitely has a little bit of cattitude, but as long as you respect her boundaries she’s happy as can be. She has a beautiful “tabbico” (tabby with tortoiseshell highlights) coat and amazingly long whiskers! More photos to come…
Clarice was found as a stray. Although she’s quite opinionated, once she realized she was safe and no one was going to hurt her, it became obvious just how much she likes people… although she’s always quite clear that things need to happen on her terms! She loves to rub on you and has a great purr motor. She’s very active and enjoys keeping her eye on her human as they go about their day. So far she hasn’t necessarily been a lap cat, but she does like to hang out near you.
She does tend to be a little bit defensive (possibly because people weren’t so nice to her in the past and she’s worried someone’s going to be mean/rough with her) and she can get overstimulated when you’re petting her, but hopefully this will become less frequent as she settles in somewhere, feels comfortable, and realizes no one is going to hurt/bully her. She needs a person who can read cat body language and knows when it’s time to give her space.
Clarice doesn’t care for other cats, so would prefer to be your one and only feline. (It’s unknown if she has any experience with dogs.) She would not be a good match for young children, but teenagers and up should be OK.
Clarice is being fostered in the Remington neighborhood of Baltimore. Click on the “start your inquiry” button to learn more!
