Hi, I'm Delphine, I came to foster mom as a very scared street cat who didn't trust humans at all. I had lost all but one of my babies in a sad incident and my one remaining kitten (Tempest) had been taken in to Animal Friends Alliance a few days earlier so when I was captured I really was fearful and scared. My foster mom came to pick me up and to my joy and surprise I was reunited with my baby Tempest. I immediately went back into mommy mode, grooming and protecting her. A few days later foster mom came into our room with a carrier and slowly introduced me to 5 tiny orphaned kittens that they had rescued. Without hesitation I took over the grooming and protection role with them too, I suddenly had a big family to take care of and I loved it. I did not however trust humans and would run and hide anytime foster mom would come in. Slowly as the babies grew and foster mom spent many hours in our room with them and talking to me, I started getting more used to her and saw that I didn't need to be so scared. I would move a tiny bit closer to her everytime she would come in, watching as the babies would curl up on her lap and in her arms and fall asleep. Now weeks later I will carefully climb up into her lap as well and cuddle up with the babies. My little adopted girl Meowgli is my little shadow and when she cuddles up close to me, she helps me to actually relax and feel more at home and less scared. I help her feel more brave too, we are a great pair. I go a bit crazy when catnip is involved and I make foster mom laugh when she gives me a toy rubbed with the stuff and sees me become like a playful little kitten again. I do love being pet, I start purring and get in a very blissful state, and I am slowly getting used to being held and cuddled. I don't think it would take to much time until I will enjoy that too. I love being a house cat now and I would be so happy to find a loving home for both Meowgli and me with people who will be patient with me, letting me get used to them slowly as I am still pretty shy and guarded with new people.
