My Story

Our little Down is a special case....she came into the shelter as a little sick feral kitten. She was very scared and all alone. It took some time to get her over her intestinal parasites and she had to be isolated during treatment. At the shelter Dove was very shut down and stayed crouched down attempting to hide all the time. She would allow herself to be picked up and she would just curl into you as you petted and held her. She recently spent time at a foster home with three other cats and we have seen such a change in her. She purrs like crazy when you pet and scratch her along the back, she has begun playing with toys and coming out to get fed. Dove would really blossom in a quiet home with a patient owner who could give her the loves she so needs. In foster care she was walking about and getting in the foster's lap to be petted. She loves to play with feathers on a wand, or pipe cleaner spider toys. She quietly watches the other cats and even interacts with them. Watching a former feral kitty become a happy member of a family can be super rewarding. Dove would be great with another cat or two and a person who loves shy girls. She would not do well in a busy household with children as she is still very shy but oh, the progress she has made in only ten days in a foster home. She loves her former foster and loves when she visits the shelter and is so happy and purring. This love can be yours if you would like to adopt Dove.
