My Story

Meet Emmylou and Willie - A bonded pair of siblings from “The Outlaws”! They are approximately 6 months old. Emmylou is a gorgeous medium-haired tabby who has unique markings and muted coloring. She is a watcher, and oftentimes appears to be secretly judging situations while taking notes on what to do next. Emmylou was the first to be held and purr within “The Outlaws” crew and is protective of her brothers. Emmylou is obsessed with the laser pointer, but also enjoys smaller toys that can be ‘caught’ and carried around the house. She has a peculiar way of eating kibble that brings joy because she looks so silly... Her scrunchy face is too much! Willie has grown into a one-orange-braincell lovebug, who always tends to find his favorite spot at the nook of his foster mom’s shoulders. Prior to being a shoulder kitty, Willie struggled to trust his foster mom and open up to domestication. He was the last one to explore and play outside the bathroom kennel, be held, purr, and make biscuits. All it took was Hallmark’s “Countdown to Christmas” and hanging out over a long break for Willie to slowly come out of his shell. Even though Willie has an abundance of toys, he always tends to find the knicknacks of bobby pins, pens, and paper to play with. Emmylou and Willie continue to work on allowing new people into their lives. These two were not socialized or around humans until approximately three months old. Within the last three months, they’ve made incredible progress that will continue at their permanent home. Both Emmylou and Willie will be bashful and weary until they are comfortable with their adoptive family. When adopted, it is very important for them to remain in a small space to socialize with their adoptive family prior to an open/all-access home. If there is a hiding space, Emmylou and Willie will find it! The payoff of giving Emmylou and Willie time to adjust and trust is worth it! Whoever becomes their permanent family will have countless hours of lap and shoulder time that includes purring and biscuits, as well as play time with their favorite toys. What Emmylou and Willie are looking for in a home: - They want to stay together forever and must be adopted as a pair. - They’re new to indoor life with humans, so they need a kind and patient guide to help them continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strangers can make them nervous. - They can get nervous, so they need a kind and patient guide to help them feel comfortable with new experiences. - They’ll need extra time and TLC to build trust. - They have lots of kitten energy and will benefit from plenty of active play time. - They feel at ease in a quiet and calm environment. - They need to live indoors only. - They have a positive history with other cats. - They need children to respect their space. All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption. Thank you for your interest in Emmylou and Willie!
