My Story

Some fur in the hand is worth a Ferdinand in your home...or however that proverb goes. Let's not get bogged down on the semantics, that way you'll have way more time to spent enjoy his antics! He is a tad nervous being in the shelter, but was a very loving and cuddly critter in his previous home and would love to bond with a new family to get that love and attention again. Ferdinand was surrendered by his previous owners after they could solve his issues with using the litter box, which started suddenly a few years ago. He also had his front paws declawed, which based on his age was around the same time those issues appeared and likely could have contributed to his litter box issues. He would benefit from an experienced adult-only home with no other pets in order to have those litter box habits monitored and troubleshot more easily -- he lived previously with children and other cats, but was somewhat skittish around kids. And sure, who doesn't love a good chonkster, but Ferdinand could benefit from a little weight loss to put less pressure on his paws compared to what his 16lb frame currently provides in the fight against gravity.
