My Story

DOB 8/1/24 Gracie is lighter grey/brown tabby with yellow eyes. Some amazing people found her and a brother and 2 sisters (4 total) under a barn and they have flourished since. I call her baby Gracie. She is the smallest of the bunch and will likely be a smaller cat. She can sometimes act like the baby and demand your attention. She will jump up in your lap regardless if another kitten is there and move in. She loves to be held and I can just walk around the house with her lounging off my arms as she loves to be around her people. She is the first one to jump into the bed in the morning with me and cuddle. Her purrs can wake the neighbors but it’s just showing her love. She loves rubbing your face with hers and there is no such thing has personal space with her. She will follow you everywhere and be in everything you are because she loves you. She is going to make her forever family so grateful to have her. She is bonded with her sister Gussie. PLEASE READ: Adoption fee $100 for adult (over 12 months old) and $125 for kitten (under 12 months old). All cats coming into your care will be delivered altered (spayed/neutered), tested for FIV/FELV, microchipped, have received age-appropriate vaccines, treated for fleas and worms. We are not first come, first serve. We try to match our kitties with the purrfect home. Silverton Cat Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an all-volunteer organization. All our kitties are in foster care. We ask that you be patient with us as we connect you to the foster to set up a meet and greet. Most of our kittens are placed in bonded pairs. One of the most important ways we can support the behavioral and emotional development of a kitten is to make sure they’ve got a friend. Despite the common belief that cats are solitary animals, they’re actually incredibly social beings who thrive when they have feline friends from an early age. That’s why the cat experts always recommend adopting two kittens, or adopting a solo kitten only if you already have another young cat in the home for the kitten to befriend. It may come as a surprise to hear this, but two kittens are actually half the work of one! Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of the cats while also making your life easier. In order to make sure cats under our care go to the safest and most compatible homes we require adoptees to fill out our Rescue’s application and accept a home visit.
