My Story

*** Guinness & Kahlua are in a foster home. *** Guinness: solid black, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 4/27/24, #19361 Kahlua: solid black, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 4/27/24, #19362 (1 white whisker) Cats: love each other, must have friend Dogs: unknown Children: calm older kids BACKGROUND: Guinness and Kahlua were found at an apartment complex; a local rescuer took them in and then reached out to The Rescue House on their behalf. They moved into foster care where they have thrived! PERSONALITY: Guinness and Kahlua are super athletes who like to show off! Their favorite activity is racing up/down stairs or tall towers and asking their humans to either throw cat toys up to them for batting practice or to bring out a wand. Springs, pipe cleaners, laser pointers... the chase is one! They are excellent jumpers. Both are reserved with strangers and appreciate some introduction time. They prefer humans not loom over them, so the best interactions come when they are on the shelf of a tower and you can give them lots of pets and then pick them up while you're near the same height. They love to be stroked and have great purrs. ---Guinness likes to "sploot out" or do "frog-legs": when she lies down on a cool floor she will stretch aaaalll the way out with her legs extended straight behind her. It's both adorable and hilarious! When she decides she needs human company, she may give a cry to try to get you to come to her, but Guinness will also make her way to your lap in these circumstances. ---Kahlua is the larger of the two and has a single white whisker coming out of her left eyebrow! (It's so cute.) Though a bit more reserved than her sister, Kahlua will warm up as she gets to know you, and it's then that you will be treated to her super-loud happy purr every time she greets you! COMPATIBILITY: Guinness and Kahlua love each other and would be thrilled if they get to stay together forever. If that's not in the cards, they each must have a welcoming kitty playmate. They get along great with their foster's resident cats and like to rub against them and play together. Feline company gives them a boost in confidence. They have not met dogs. Younger or more boisterous children would likely be a bit much for them, though calm older kids who give them a chance to adapt to their new human friends should be fine. Will you raise a toast to these darlings and give them a lifetime of love?
