My Story

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** This big lug of love is Hogan! Hogan came to us as a TNR cat (Trap, Neuter and Return). The lady that had asked for help had noticed him living in an abandoned house next door to her and she had been feeding him for a little while but her outdoor cat was picking on him and thought if he was neutered maybe that would subside. She said he had never let her pet him but would watch while she set food out. He was successfully trapped and fixed but when he got back to the shelter he was meowing quite a bit which is usually a sign that a cat isn't indeed feral but perhaps had a family at one point and had been abandoned. When we peeked at him in the trap he was making biscuits and purring softly. This big boy had indeed had someone who loved him at one point. So the decision was made to take him out of the trap and see how he did. He immediately wanted pets and to snuggle so we decided he would stay. Hogan is a big gentle guy that seems to get along with other cats and really likes affection. He was probably born in 2023 and is now neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and negative for FIV/FeLV. He will be hanging out here with us until his new home and people come to give him a second chance at living a good life as a house cat!
