Iris!!!

Iris is a 12-18 month old gorgeous girl who was found aimlessly walking around an assisted living facility in a very seedy area where it’s known that there are a lot of dog fighting rings & bait animals have been found severely injured or deceased. An employee of this facility reached out to us. She told us this kitty was very friendly, extremely hungry, had a wounded eye. & she was very concerned for her safety & well being. After hearing this plea for help & seeing pictures of Iris, we couldn’t turn a blind eye. One of our volunteers immediately drove to where she was. Iris willingly got in his carrier. She was then taken directly to our vet for medical treatment. Iris needed to be put on antibiotics & was then spayed, vaccinated & had her right eye removed. Luckily her left eye, although adorably cross eyed, was salvageable & she still has good vision in this eye. Iris has been recovering in a local foster home for a few months & is doing wonderfully. She is fully healed & has put on weight. She lovessss to eat & is actually getting a little thick now, lol. Iris is very social & friendly with new faces. She will rub on your legs & be so affectionate. She’ll also jump on your lap. Sometimes she gets a little too into it & gives an affectionate love nip. (Which a young child might get upset about) Iris is in a foster home with several dogs, other cats & a mini pig. She was stand offish & hissy with the other animals at first, but is now fine being in their company. She is completely fine with the pig & dogs, & several of the cats. She does sometimes chase a few of the cats, but then she will still hang around with all of them, so who knows what she’s thinking. ? Iris is spayed, fiv/felv negative, up-to-date on vaccines & other medical. Her adoption fee is $250, which is a tax deductible donation.
