My Story

J-Roc is a tender-hearted kitty who's still learning to trust the world. Brought to Dakin as a stray with a couple of other cats, she's a little shy at first, but with patience and gentle care, she'll reveal her sweet and loving side. Her finder shared that J-Roc was a bit of a scaredy cat at first, but with time, she grew comfortable enough to enjoy pets-especially on her forehead and between her eyes. J-Roc is looking for a calm and caring home where she can continue to build her confidence. If you're ready to help her blossom into the affectionate companion she's meant to be, J-Roc can't wait to meet you! Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt. **the below two methods are slower than visiting us** Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us ([email protected]) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
