My Story

*** If you have any questions or would like to meet any of our adoptable cats, email [email protected]. Please include a cell number and check your SPAM folder if you do not receive a timely response. Meet Jalapeno! This sweet, 11-year-old senior is looking for another chance at a loving home. He was adopted from NAWS three years ago and returned in October 2024. It always breaks our hearts to see senior kitties homeless - they are often the most appreciative and grateful cats once adopted. He would love to find a safe and comfortable retirement home and will likely be an incredibly devoted companion. Jalapeno is calm and peaceful. He is friendly and greets people, but is not demanding of attention. He isn’t a huge fan of being picked up but is super gentle with people. His purr is quiet but he clearly enjoys attention and seeks it out in small amounts. He can be chatty at times, as well! Jalapeno is great with other cats - he groomed and slept with a 4-month-old foster kitten and had no issues with two senior foster girls. He was in a home of three cats before he was returned. We believe he would happily slide into a peaceful group of kitties in a new home. He needs a compassionate and understanding adopter - he has early stage kidney disease. All that means right now is that he drinks and urinates a little more than typical. His litter box usage has been perfect in his foster home. He loves his water fountain and is not on any meds or special food at this time. He needs a hero that wants to give a loving home to a special senior fellow! Want to help care for him while he waits to find his forever home? You can be a "Sponsor!" Click on the "sponsor" button on this profile and your one-time donation will be used for vital everyday essentials such as his food, litter and medical care! Thank you for helping save lives! All NAWS cats are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines. A Cat Adoption Application is required should you decide you’d like to apply to adopt a NAWS cat. Please complete and submit the application electronically on our website at http://www.nawsus.org.
