My Story

HISTORY: JESSI was rescued in Texas and transferred to Felines & Friends when found to be FIV+. However, as is typical with many FIV+ cats, this cat has no symptoms, is in excellent health and expected to live a normal lifespan. While conventional thinking is to only place an FIV+ cat in a home with no other cats or with another FIV+ cat, there are many mixed households. According to Cornell University, the primary mode of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) transmission is through repeated fights resulting in the exchange of blood, and it poses no threat to humans or other species. TEMPERAMENT: JESSI is a sweet young adult who would love a second chance at a happy indoor kitty life. We are still learning more about her likes and dislikes but she has enjoy petting and attention from her caregivers at our shelter. AGE: born approx. 1/14/2021 MICROCHIP #: -1540 DATE OF STERILIZATION: 1/21/25 VAX RECORD: FVRCP expires: 1/14/26; Rabies expires: 1/13/26 FELV/FIV test: 1/10/24 FIV+ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: ADOPTION FEE: $100 If you may be interested in adopting, please complete our online application: https://www.fandfnm.org/application.
