Jewel

Meet Jewel, a shy but sweet 3 year old medium-haired black kitty with white patches. Jewel loves sleeping in the sink and having her ears scratched. She was rescued with a few other cats, including her current roommate Joey, from an encampment that had been cleared. She was used to human interaction, but life indoors is still new to her. She likes playing quietly with the feather toy, and watching birds from the window. Jewel needs a patient and understanding person to encourage her as she builds confidence. She is easily scared by fast movements and noises, and will hide. She will need time in a small space (bathroom, den) with few hiding places to socialize with her adoptive family prior to full access of the home. Jewel needs to have cat companionship too, and would do well in a household with another young adult cat. Or she could be adopted with Joey! What Jewel is looking for in a new home: - She’s new to indoor life with humans, so she needs a kind and patient guide to help her continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strange people will make her nervous. - She will need extra time and TLC to build trust and learn to live indoors - She needs a young cat friend close to her age to play with. - She feels most comfortable in a quiet and calm environment, and will run away and find a hiding spot if startled. - She needs to live indoors only. - She has lived with other cats and needs a companion cat - She has no known history with dogs - She has no known experience with children, and would likely do best in an adult only home, or with older children who would respect her space.
