My Story

YOU'RE GONNA LOVE JOEY! And we aren't kidding! Joey is such a nice boy we can't fathom how someone could have moved away and left him to fend for himself. For years! No more flakes for Joey, his next home must truly be forever! We think Joey is about 5 years old, because people in his neighborhood knew his back story. He's been neutered, wormed, vaccinated and is a very good boy with his litter box. We were surprised to see that a kitty who'd been forced to make his own way in the world for so long is as chubby as he is (over 17#s at the moment!) The aforementioned neighbors, thankfully, were part of his support team. He'd make the rounds, being his very friendly self and obviously, got plenty of handouts. Seriously, who could resist that face? Of course, his new family will have to institute some portion control until he achieves a healthy weight. He'd be more than happy to trade time at the food bowl for more quality time with you! With yet another cold snap coming on we were contacted so we could get him out of this unfortunate situation and into the loving home he deserves. After all he's been through, it's a wonder he still trusts people, but he hasn't met a human he doesn't love. It was a bit difficult to take pictures of him because he kept trying to crawl in and my lap and smudged up the camera lens more than once with his nose. He wants to find his very own people to love him SO badly! Joey gets long well with other cats and we think he'll be just fine with cat friendly canines too, once he gets to know them. There's been a bit of trouble with one of the shelter cats in his room about such a big boy coming into his space (jail house rules, beat up the big guy). Joey is never the aggressor and runs from any trouble. We're keeping Joey and Leonard, his nemesis, separated, of course, but Joey sure would like to move in with his very own family as soon as possible. Enough trouble in his life already! I bet all you want to know now is how you can meet this charming fellow, right? Just fill out an adoption application on our website using this link: https://pawsitiveoutreach.org/adoption-application or call Gina at (480)779-9208. A $50 adoption fee will bust him out of jail and make you both very, very happy!
