My Story

Meet John Prine, a 12-pound four year-old brown tabby heartthrob with mesmerizing olive green eyes! Named after the beloved folk & country musician with whom he shares his distinguishable jowls, feline John Prine is sure to strum your heartstrings and make a fan out of you the moment he crawls into your lap. Rescued from outdoor living with a tiny nick in his left ear to show for it, J.P. has expertly transitioned to an indoor venue and plays all the hits a cat lover could hope for. Fold-y feet and biscuit-making? Check. A repertoire of adorable vocalizations, including a deep rumbly purr? Check. Head-butts, intense eye-contact complete with “I love you” slow-blinks, and a tail with a mind of its own? Check, check, and check! J.P’s favorite things, besides being in the spotlight of your attention, are scratching his cat post, chasing & pouncing on toys, and lick-able cat treats. What John Prine’s looking for in a home: - Fairly new to indoor life, he may need extra time, TLC, and boundary-setting to build mutual trust. - He will benefit from playtime (wand and feather toys are his favorite) when he is most active in the mornings and evenings. - He needs to live indoors only. - He has likely been around other cats while living outdoors, and may like having a feline friend close to his age and size. - He has no known history with dogs. - He has no known history with children, but due to his size and strength, would do best with older kids who have experience with cats. All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption. Thank you for your interest in adopting John Prine! If your household fits the above criteria, you can apply to adopt him by filling out this questionnaire: https://bit.ly/ACPAdoptionForm Only applicants who complete the questionnaire will be considered. Many of our cats receive numerous applications, and we thank you for your patience while we review applications and find the best match. Please do not follow up on your application by phone or email as this will not expedite a response. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, we appreciate your understanding.
