Meet sweet Juniper, a resilient and loving cat looking for his furever home! ? Juniper was rescued from a small colony after being found with a bleeding neck and living amongst filth and spiders. Initially suspected to be a victim of animal abuse, it was discovered that his bleeding was due to severe skin allergies caused by regular cat food! Juniper now thrives on a special hydrolyzed protein diet. He also tested positive for FIV, meaning his immune system is compromised, but he is still expected to live a long, healthy life. When Juniper first came indoors, he was understandably scared. However, after a couple of months of click training using his favorite treats (Vital freeze dried Minnows), he transformed into a loud, purring machine, earning him the new spelling of his name, JuniPURR! He gets along with other cats. He would do best in a calmer household either as an only cat, due to his FIV+ status, or with other FIV+ cats. He is not a dominant kitty at all and won't challenge another cat. Dogs are not desired in the household because of his timid nature. If he gets over-stimulated by too much petting, he may snap his jaws in your direction. Thus, he might not be the best fit for homes with younger children or boisterous individuals. Once you earn Junipurr’s trust, he will come to you loudly purring, expectant, hopeful, but still timid of petting, chin scratches, brushing, and kisses.
