My Story

Little is looking for a new home due to the ill health of her previous adopter. She is a sweet and affectionate cat once she gets to know you but that will likely be a process. Once she is comfortable with you she loves lap time and especially enjoys curling up and having her belly rubbed. She still enjoys playing fetch with her favorite toys or just playing independently with them. She has a bedtime routine of jumping up on a waist high catree in the bedroom and demanding to be beat on like a bongo drum. She then rolls around and pretends to bite, purring happily all the while. To make sure I don't forget she yells at me before I get in bed. Favorite toys and cat tree can certainly accompany her if new adopter wishes. She does have food allergies so is on a special prescription diet which previous adopter is willing to subsidize. She's up to date on everything and had a recent annual exam including bloodwork which came back as normal in everything. She's missing a few teeth from previous dental work but has no problem snarfing down dry food. Little is a funny flame-point girl she has been living her whole life with her sister Big but they are definitely not bonded. Little gets along with other cats and might enjoy one that liked to play with her after a proper introduction. There is apparently some canine DNA mixed among the feline in this family because Little is obsessed with playing fetch. It can actually get kind of irritating because when she drops whatever toy she wants to fetch in your lap, or next to you, she "barks" at you until it is thrown. Neither one of them is likely to readily accept strangers, especially silly Little. She is a very timid little critter who even runs away from me when I enter a room unless I talk to her. Not sure what that is all about--guilty conscience about something? She does follow me around rubbing against my legs and frequently jumps up in my lap--where she insists on having her belly rubbed. She also, for some weird reason gets next to the chair I usually sit in and yells at me until I stick my hand over and pet her (or throw whatever toy she wants to fetch). When I try to pull my arm back she grabs my arm and bites it--fortunately softly. Both Big and Little like to "help" me with all the household chores and seem quite puzzled when I decline their assistance (it can take MUCH longer to make a bed when they are helping!!). They would probably be happiest in a fairly quiet home and since they are so quirky I would not be comfortable placing them outside of Austin.
