My Story

Lyra is a young, spayed, female mom cat. She is a beautiful medium-long haired torbie (tortoiseshell-tabby) cat with big paws that she loves to use to knead muffins. Lyra came to ACAT late last fall after good Samaritans found her going in and out of their shed, where she had safely stashed her babies. This caring mommy was thin and tired from surviving in the streets and keeping her babies fed and safe. She did an exceptional job and welcomed food, nutrition, and a warm and safe environment of a foster home. After receiving basic medical care and dewormer the family blossomed, gained weight and strength. All of Lyra's babies found loving forever homes and now, that Lyra is spayed she is ready to find her forever home too. We feel Lyra would make a great addition to any family. While she was in foster care she was around other adult cats and kittens and large, friendly dogs. She was got along very well with everybody and was also good with small children who visited the foster home. Lyra is affectionate, enjoys being pet and will play with a feather wand or chase fuzzy toys. She is very easygoing. If you are interested in adopting Lyra, please fill out a pre-adoption application on the ACAT website and contact her current foster mom. Jenny 401-286-4274. Lyra is fostered in Anchorage and her adoption fee is $190. She is current on vaccines, has received her first rabies vaccine, and is microchipped. For general information, contact ACAT at 982-2228. Serious inquiries should complete ACAT's preadoption application found on the adoptables gallery page of our website.
