When a resident of Paterson reached out to FOWA for help with “kittens,” we felt it was important to investigate. To our surprise, prior to our arrival at the site, we learned the kittens were six months old—by this age, most kittens are already feral and not easily adoptable. However, we needed determine whether they were truly friendly or not. Two FOWA volunteers visited the location, only to discover a horrific hoarding situation not fit for either human or animals to live in. To their relief, the kittens were indoors and all surprisingly friendly. Although FOWA was already near capacity after a very busy kitten season, we couldn’t leave these young cats in such filthy conditions. So Diwali, Jovie, Claudia and their brothers Vito, Magnum, Nash and Byron are now safe in FOWA’s care and getting all they need to be ready for homes of their own. They were born in July of 2024 and are now spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested and microchipped.
