Our cats and kittens are allowed to be adopted anywhere in NYC/NJ/Long Island.
Please note, all our kittens under 6 months old are available in pairs only or to the home with another cat/cat friendly dog. Bonded pairs will not be split up.
On October 17th, 2024 we received a call about the friendly cat being dumped outside by her owners. The cat they had since she was 6-7 weeks old. The reason?! Nothing new here - they took in a puppy and the cat was furious. Their son, who doesn’t live with his family now and is renting the room, ran to the area and was able to quickly grab her. He was absolutely heartbroken and tried his best to find the placement for his girl Mia. Next day one of our volunteers went to pick up this girl and Mia was not happy, which was understandable- betrayed by her family, dumped outside, picked up by the stranger and taken to absolute unknown for her environment. We decided to give her some time to decompress, but her foster mom was very worried about Mia’s mental condition. Little did we know that Mia went into the labor!!! This was a very long night for us. She first had 3 babies and as soon as she realized we were there for her and her babies, that we were not going to hurt her or her babies, she relaxed and let us gently pet her and started to purr . We let her be with her newborns and the next morning she showed us her 4th baby kitten. She is being such a great mom .
This family is beautiful and we know that the kittens will start getting the pre-adoption applications quickly, but Mia deserves the love just like her kittens are.
After being so heavily betrayed by her previous owners we think the quiet home with no small kids will be the best home for Mia and her son (she can also be adopted as a solo cat).
