Meet Mariposa, a stunning 10-year-old DSH silver tabby with unique orange flashes. This independent lady enjoys cuddles on her own terms and is looking for a loving home to continue her journey. Mariposa is currently on a special diet (OM) to manage her weight and will need to stay on it in her new home. She also has feline asthma, which has only flared up once in the past 8 months and is easily managed with a short course of steroids. Mariposa is spayed and fully vaccinated. She would thrive either as the only cat or with a similarly aged feline friend. While she’s not a fan of dogs, she does well with one or two other cats. Mariposa is best suited for a home without children. If you’re looking for a beautiful and independent companion who will bring joy to your life, Mariposa is the perfect match. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Sometimes there is more that comes out about an animals personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through. Kittens need buddies! We require that kittens be adopted with a sibling or go to a home that already has another young companion animal. If you already have a young animal or another kitten in your home, great! We do not do holiday adoptions as well as we require the cats to be adopted for indoor companions only (no outdoor living) Our mission: The Marvellous Menagerie is a registered 501c3 and non-profit in the state of MN and is a growing neonatal kitten nursery, farm animal refuge and rescue for fur farm foxes. ?We are raising funds to buy a property.
