Meet Meena and Maya, two adorable and floofy tortie sisters who are 5-6 months old.
Meena is a dark tortie and Maya a dilute tortie, a pretty striking pair together. They literally came in from the cold – struggling to find food and shelter on their own outdoors during that terrible cold spell in January, underweight and with raggedy fur.
Though they were safe and warm once in foster care, they were initially very anxious in their new situation. But their trust and confidence in humans have grown steadily, as have their nice round bellies and fluffy coats, and they are now practiced lap cats.
They will curl up on their foster mom’s lap for long cuddle sessions but still are anxious about new people and settings. Treats and toys definitely help win them over and a patient adopter who gives them time to adjust will be rewarded with loads of love and adorable kitten energy.
What Meena and Maya are looking for in a home:
- They want to stay together forever and must be adopted as a pair.
- They need to live indoors only.
- They’re new to indoor life with humans, so they need a kind and patient guide to help them continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strangers can make them nervous.
- They feel at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- They have lots of kitten energy and will benefit from plenty of active playtime.
- They have no history with dogs, other than hearing the resident dog bark, and would likely prefer a dog-free home.
- They have no experience with children and would likely do best in an adults-only home.
All Alley Cat Projects cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.
