My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Minka is an independent, adventurous, beautiful kitten with Snowshoe Siamese coloring. She is extremely loving and enjoys rubbing her head on you and getting a good head and ear scratching. Her fur is so soft! She is an expert biscuit maker and LOVES to watch for birds out of the window. She will stand on her hind legs like a meerkat and wave for you to pick her up and carry her around upright, walking around the house and checking on things. She is not afraid to chase and ride on the robot vacuum but runs when the traditional vacuum comes out. She LOVES to gallop on her exercise wheel (we'll send it with her to her new home!) and does not mind wearing a walking harness on a trial basis, as she seems very interested in going outside onto the protected patio area. She would probably adapt easily to a harness and leash. She does NOT like to have her belly rubbed unless she is zonked out from sleep. Bathing and claw trimming are not her favorite activities. She will get the zoomies and bounce around in a little clump; it is quite amusing. She is very considerate, in that she likes to bring her rat toy and rainbow snake toy to the food bowl so they can eat, too! Minka would do well as a single cat with a patient human who understands cats in general, and Siamese in particular. Like many Siamese, she tends to play rough with teeth and claws, and she startles easily, so we recommend a home without young children. Minka's adoption fee is $75. Many cats do so much better in pairs, especially kittens, which is why we offer a reduced adoption fee of $25 for the second cat (or more!). Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we're happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you're looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal's behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it.
