My Story

Minnie came to us from Oldham County. She is an absolute sweetheart and LOVES people and affection! Want to have a companion that hangs on your every word, is there through thick and thin, can make you laugh in the worst of times??? Minnie is YOUR girl! This sweet girl is the best of friends and will be the light of your life! She would probably do best as an only cat, but she is doing fine with her roommates... although she is very bossy an likes her space. She undoubtedly prefers the company of humans. Minnie is marked as "special needs" because she is positive for the feline leukemia virus (FeLV). This does NOT impact her lovingness, playfulness or adoptability, as you can see she is gorgeous, outgoing and healthy! However, she should go to a home with either no other cats or a home with other FeLV positive cats. FeLV does not infect dogs, humans or other species, only cats. There is a lot of information on the internet about FeLV, but not all of it is accurate or up to date. To learn more, we recommend starting with the Alley Cat Allies white papers to veterinarians FeLV Fact Sheet: https://www.alleycat.org/resources/feline-leukemia-virus-felv/. If you're ready to make Minnie a new member of your family, please fill out an adoption form from our website https://animalrefugecenter.org/adoption-application/ or hit the inquiry button and we'll be in touch!
