My Story

Missy is a beautiful 10-year old female Tortoiseshell kitty who was surrendered to HSOV on December 17, 2024 along with her two male companions (Casper and Piper) who had shared her home. Sadly they became homeless when their mistress had passed away and there was nobody else who was able to take care of them. Missy has a brown/orange/beige short smooth coat in a tortoiseshell pattern, a long tail, and an adorable face with green/gold eyes, a wide orange stripe on her forehead, an orange/brown nose, and long white whiskers. This lovely little lady has a sweet, outgoing personality and loves attention. Missy was given vaccinations, flea treatment, and Pyrantel wormer on December 22, 2024 and was given booster vaccines on January 5, 2025. Missy is a petite kitty who weighs 6.2 lbs. Missy was understandably a bit subdued for the first weeks in our shelter. She surely wondered what on earth happened to turn her whole world upside down and finding herself in a small cage by herself in an unfamiliar place .. especially when she had been accustomed to the freedom of her very own home. Missy has already been spayed, so she could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application. Missy is a gorgeous senior citizen with much love to bestow upon her new owner/family. Note: Missy's two male companions (Casper and Piper) were adopted together on December 31, 2024 shortly after they were moved to The Jungle Room. These photos were taken on January 29, 2025 after Missy was moved to The Jungle Room where most of our adoptable cats are housed. Missy posed for serene 'glamour pictures' while she listened to our photographer telling her what a sweetheart she was .. And after her photo session was over, it warmed our photographer's heart when Missy came to the front of her cage and politely asked for petting and a neck/head rub. Missy has come to realize that she is among her new best friends (our kennel techs/volunteers) who love her and are trying their best to find her another home where she will be loved 24/7. Missy is currently enjoying a large cat tower in the lobby/hallway of our shelter where she is interviewing candidates to become her new family. Missy is also available for rescue. Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email ([email protected]). We can usually help with transportation.
