My Story

Gentle and sweet Mona is a grey and white, female cat seeking a loving and attentive new family. Mona was transferred to the shelter from one of our rescue partners, Cats Cove Inc, located in the northern neck of Virginia. Mona was originally found as a stray in a truck bed belonging to an employee of a trailer factory. She was hiding among fishing equipment. Mona was carefully freed from the fishing equipment and brought to rescue. Mona had a fishhook removed from her mouth and recovered nicely from the injury and infection. Now Mona is in ship-shape and ready for a new adventure! She is a quiet girl who likes gentle approaches. In foster care, Mona would look forward to her foster mom and caregivers' attention. Mona was comfortable with her feline foster siblings in a communal space. This sweet gal just needs some TLC in a caring home, maybe even with kitty sibling(s). Come meet and adopt darling Mona the cat, today! If you'd like to meet our available pets, please check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt
