My Story
Nebula is a gorgeous medium haired torbie (tabby stripes with tortoiseshell coloring), with bright green eyes! She was found in a Denver area trailer park in mid-December, and was deemed not social enough to be adoptable but not feral by a local shelter, so they told her rescuer to just release her as a TNR. Well, her rescuer didn't feel that was right, as the location where she was found wasn't safe and there was no guarantee of food, water, or safe shelter. Nebula seemed like she could be easily socialized with time and patience, so her rescuer became her foster momma. Nebi has shown amazing progress in a very short period of time! Day one she was accepting pets, and by the end of week one she was purring when pet. Nebula is still learning that life isn't scary, but she does well with each new experience. She may hiss upon meeting a new person, but will stay in her window bed and accept pets (she LOVES scratches and ruffle style pets). The way to Nebi's heart is through treats, and even more treats.
Nebula would need a patient home, that won't mind working with a shy kitty. Ideally, her forever home would have a spare bedroom where she can get to know her forever family slowly, this way she won't retreat under the bed/couch/etc. Her foster mom is a cat behaviorist so she will be able to help get a space set up, and give endless tips to help Nebula thrive. Nebula has seen her foster families dogs and cats, but everyone is being kept separate for now; the plan is to regularly expose her to the older calm dog soon. She has been exposed to children 3-10 and did ok with the older child that remained calm but the younger, more busy kiddos scared her (any fast movements scare her). She'd likely do just fine in a home with other calm/chill/disinterested pets. Just a heads up, Nebula demands a window bed, as it's her favorite thing, besides treats!
Nebula's estimated date of birth is April, 2024. She is FeLV negative, spayed, mirco-chipped, vaccinated for rabies, and has had two rounds of FVRCP vaccine (she will get the 3rd when it is due). She is tiny, weighing about 8 pounds.
