We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana and generally meet inside one of our adoption partners locations which are Hollywood Feed, Shreveport or in PetSmart, Shreveport.
Padme - around 6 month old female, med hair calico. Birthday est 8/1/24.
Padme - This beautiful fluffy girl was originally snatched up while she was a little girl all alone outdoors needing food and shelter. She began a legal stray hold through Bossier City Animal Control. She was shy and we knew she would do better staying with us than going to the shelter, so she got to become a Rockers Rescue baby. She is currently named after Star Wars, Luke and Leia's mom, but her name can be changed.
Personality- Padme is quiet and shy. She needs a home that will SMOTHER her in love. She will take time to adapt but she can be a sweet snuggly girl when she feels safe. She is not a fan of the hyper dog in the foster home. We want to find her a calmer environment that can dote on her. She will likely try to hide at first so her future home needs to keep her contained in a small area or room at first while she adapts, otherwise she'd likely tuck under furniture. Patience and love will win this beautiful baby over. She does enjoy snuggling and doing some playing with another kitty under our rescue, Billy. So she wouldn't mind a kitty friend! It would likely help her come out of her shell. Independent but allows love and cuddles when she feels secure. Again, in a home made just for her without a hyper dog, she can work on this!
Fur- This is a MEDIUM HAIR cat! That does not just mean she's cute and fluffy. It means upkeep. It means she can get matted or need a little sanitary fur clipping at times. Medium hair cats need extra attention to details. Adopter must be prepared for that.
Food Pointers - Currently eats purina indoor kitten chow and gets a can of friskies shreds at times. Although we do prefer our adopters slack up on canned food as they grow unless you are prepared for their addiction, haha. Please do not switch brands in the beginning of adopting as that can cause upset tummies on top of them adjusting to a new environment. We like to keep those tummies stable. If you want to switch foods, we suggest a gradual switch. Too much canned food, or even certain brands, can cause upset tummies too. It all depends on your kitty and their tummy. Just some little pointers.
Medical: Kitten will have 3 rounds of vaccinations/booster vaccines. These are given a certain amount of weeks apart to help protect them. After those, you switch to doing the regular yearly vaccines with your vet. Your vet will advise if they'd like to give any extra vaccines too. The younger kitties generally get their rabies vaccine at their spay/neuter appointment. Padme goes to be spayed and get her rabies vaccine on 2/5/25. Dewormed. Treated for ringworm in the past. On monthly flea/tick prevention. When you adopt, you will get a folder with their medical records to bring to your vet. Kitty will be microchipped. It is via Petlink and there are NO fees. It is a lifetime registration and our rescue donations will have already paid for it.
Note: We do not approve of declawing. So if you wish to do that, please do not apply. Keep in mind the financial needs for the kitten/cats. This kitten is also to be indoors only. If you want an outdoors or indoor/outdoor kitty let us know and we can direct you.
ADOPTION: $60 adoption donation for approved application. Our rescue spends a LOT more than this fee on each life, but it is a way to help give back some to go towards the next life we help. We are a 501c3 non profit that is 100% volunteer run. We function solely on donations from kind people. If you wish to donate more or continue following/supporting us over time, we would appreciate your continued love to help our organization save lives.
Adoption Process Summary: You apply. We will email or call if we have any questions. Upon app approval, we would schedule a day we all meet at Hollywood Feed Shreveport or PetSmart Shreveport. At that meet we would all make sure that you feel the pet is a good match for your home. If so, we run the adoption. You fill out our contract, pay your donation fee, and receive your folder with their medical records. You must bring a pet carrier to this appointment because your pet will go home with you that day if we all feel it is a great match. Woohoo! We take your adoption picture and you head off with your new furry friend! We can often provide adoption coupons too!
