My Story

Be sure to read my FULL BIO all the way down to my vetting and how to apply. Not all sites will show the full bio, so if needed please go to www.rockersrescue.org and click on adoptable pets to be sure you are reading all details. The animals have multiple pictures to view. (on our site click "view more" under the main photo, or scroll to the bottom to see the rest.) We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana and generally meet inside one of our adoption partners locations which are Hollywood Feed, Shreveport or in PetSmart, Shreveport. Billy (Prince Billy) - around 6 month old male, medium hair, possibly silver tabby mix. Billy - This beautiful fluffy boy was surrendered to Bossier City Animal Control with his siblings. He was scared on intake so the director took him home. In her home, he blossomed and was the sweetest boy! We had an opening for a new intake so she mentioned Billy to us and we took him in. His name can be changed if desired. Personality- Billy is a more needy in-your-face for love kind of boy! He loves snuggles and attention. He is an expert biscuit maker! He will likely follow you about. He does enjoy the company of other kitties. When at the shelter directors home, he liked her calm great dane and would seek it out for snuggles and to play. However, in his current foster home, he hates the hyper dog in it. He says no thank you to hyper dogs! Billy is seeking his perfect home without a hyper dog, and with lots and lots of love to give. He snuggles and plays some with another kitty under our rescue named Padme. Billy is said to have a very quaint and tiny little "meow". He is also known for being very soft. He is in a foster home with an 11yr old child and does great getting that attention. He does like toys and playing! He really deserves a home that is wanting a very loving cat. Fur- This is a more MEDIUM HAIR cat! That does not just mean she's cute and fluffy. It means upkeep. It means they may can get matted or need a little sanitary fur clipping at times. Medium hair cats need extra attention to details. Adopter must be prepared for that. Food Pointers - Currently eats purina indoor kitten chow and gets a can of friskies shreds at times. Although we do prefer our adopters slack up on canned food as they grow unless you are prepared for their addiction, haha. Please do not switch brands in the beginning of adopting as that can cause upset tummies on top of them adjusting to a new environment. We like to keep those tummies stable. If you want to switch foods, we suggest a gradual switch. Too much canned food, or even certain brands, can cause upset tummies too. It all depends on your kitty and their tummy. Just some little pointers. Medical: Kitten will have 3 rounds of vaccinations/booster vaccines. These are given a certain amount of weeks apart to help protect them. After those, you switch to doing the regular yearly vaccines with your vet. Your vet will advise if they'd like to give any extra vaccines too. Has been neutered and received his rabies vaccine. Dewormed. We took him to the vet to have his ears cleaned out and they said he had some yeast/bacteria so he received meds for a week to take care of that. On monthly flea/tick prevention. When you adopt, you will get a folder with their medical records to bring to your vet. Kitty will be microchipped. It is via Petlink and there are NO fees. It is a lifetime registration and our rescue donations will have already paid for it. Note: We do not approve of declawing. So if you wish to do that, please do not apply. Keep in mind the financial needs for the kitten/cats. This kitten is also to be indoors only. If you want an outdoors or indoor/outdoor kitty let us know and we can direct you. ADOPTION: $60 adoption donation for approved application. Our rescue spends a LOT more than this fee on each life, but it is a way to help give back some to go towards the next life we help. We are a 501c3 non profit that is 100% volunteer run. We function solely on donations from kind people. If you wish to donate more or continue following/supporting us over time, we would appreciate your continued love to help our organization save lives. Adoption Process Summary: You apply. We will email or call if we have any questions. Upon app approval, we would schedule a day we all meet at Hollywood Feed Shreveport or PetSmart Shreveport. At that meet we would all make sure that you feel the pet is a good match for your home. If so, we run the adoption. You fill out our contract, pay your donation fee, and receive your folder with their medical records. You must bring a pet carrier to this appointment because your pet will go home with you that day if we all feel it is a great match. Woohoo! We take your adoption picture and you head off with your new furry friend! We can often provide adoption coupons too! HOW TO APPLY: Go to https://www.rockersrescue.org/info/adoption and find the CAT APP. Please include as much about yourself as possible. Some people applying like to send an email with pictures of their home/pets/ or family. Email is [email protected] Our Rockers Rescue pets are currently in foster homes that help us save lives. When you choose to adopt from a rescue, you help open space for us to save another life in need. Thank you for considering adoption! Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!
