My Story

FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AT YVPR.ORG/CATADOPTIONAPPLICATION WE CAN NOT REPLY TO INQUIRIES SENT VIA PETFINDER . Queenie is a beautiful Calico girl born sometime in the Middle of May 2024. She is smart and brave! She has bonded with the other cats in her foster home and would do well with a friendly adult kitty to emulate and cuddle with. She lives with big dogs and is comfortable as long as they ignore her. Queenie was named because her face markings reminded her foster mom of a chess board. She is a little bit bigger now than when these pictures were taken, but she is still very much a kitten, her legs are just a bit longer now. Queenie is friendly with people and not afraid when strangers come to visit. She will cuddle on her own terms which is mostly at bed time. She likes to play with toys and her cat friends. Her single bad habit is wanting to eat your people food while you are. She does show interest in the outdoors both laying around gazing at the scenery and trying to make a dart out the door every once in awhile (her foster mom thinks this is because her cat friends get to go out and she wants to follow them.) This girl will make an excellent addition to any home. She has never been around kids, but knowing her we don't anticipate that to be an issue. An application must be filled out and accepted before a meet/greet can be set up. http://yvpr.org/catadoptionapplication.html) If accepted, you will hear from us within 72 hours. You will have the opportunity to ask questions before you meet the pet; an adoption may or may not happen at that time. We do adopt outside the Yakima area IF you are able to come to Yakima to pick up your adopted pet. We do not have a kennel facility; all of our pets are in foster homes. Meet/greets and adoptions take place at a site chosen by the adoption coordinator. If the cat you wanted to adopt is no longer available, please fill out an application anyway because adoptions don't always go through and it may be relisted. Your application will be kept on file for 30 days in case you find another pet you'd like to apply for. The adoption fee covers vaccinations and worming. Flea treatment and veterinary care will be provided if necessary. If you are from out of town you will need a pre-paid spay/neuter receipt from your own veterinarian.
