That's So Raven! Say hello to Raven. This shy, beautiful gray tortoiseshell DMH arrived to SCAs as stray and despite being in remarkably great shape, no one came forward to claim her. When she first arrived, Raven was defensive, overwhelmed and extremely stressed by the shelter. Once we began to spend time with her one-on-one, we soon discovered that she is an incredibly sweet cat who craves being close to her people, loves to cuddle, and is an absolute purring and blinking machine. While she does wonderfully with other cats, she would just as easily be content to be held by her person, tucking her head under your arm or under a blanket, purring while you pet her. She is also quite tolerant of being handled though does wiggle a bit at first when initially picking her up and will give your hand a nudge when she is not comfortable with something though she is gentle about it. She would likely do best in a calmer household, and would probably be fine with older, gentle kids or no kids. We do not know how she would feel about dogs but with proper, slow introductions, she may be just fine. As Raven is not yet spayed, adoption is restricted to Stafford and/or one of its neighboring counties. Adoptions are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis and adoption fees for cats are $35. If you do not have a cat carrier, we offer cat boxes for $5. We are located at 26 Frosty Lane, Stafford, VA, 22554 and are open Monday-Friday from 11AM-5:30PM and Saturday 9:30AM-4PM; adoptions conclude half an hour prior to closing.
