Don’t let Riley’s sassy face fool you - he’s the ultimate lovebug! He adores being around people and greets everyone with his enthusiastic purrs and biscuit-making skills. Riley loves snuggling and will be the first to welcome you home after a long day. Riley appeared one day at a volunteer’s house, looking for food, and found a kind person who cares for community cats. We believe he was abandoned outside to fend for himself as an owner wasn't found, he wasn’t fixed or microchipped. You’d think after a rough start to life, he’d be shy, but he is nothing of the kind! He is outgoing, affectionate, and just wants your time and love! He is about 3 years old, neutered, microchipped Fiv negative, vaccinated, and been treated with topical flea control and dewormed. Riley is FeLV positive. FeLV is a Retrovirus, exclusive to cats, that can result in a weakened immune system. FeLV is not Transmittable to humans, dogs, or other animals. This means it is recommended he only cohabitate with other kitties who are FeLv positive. FeLv can be transmitted to other cats who live in close corridors, groom each other, and share food, water and litter boxes. The virus is not easily transmitted and does not live long outside of the body. There is a vaccine which is recommended for (non FeLv) cats who are going to live with FeLv positive cats. Riley is an incredible cat who has so much love to give.
