My Story

Robin is a very smart, young, playful, and loving long-haired beauty. She appeared at her rescuer’s home on a cold fall night asking for food. Her rescuers brought her in and two weeks later, she gave birth to four beautiful babies. She has been a wonderful mama to them and nearly all of them have found new homes so now it is her turn to find a forever home where she can be loved and cherished herself. Robin is about a year old (estimated birth date 12/1/23) and even when she was pregnant with four babies, she was a petite girl. She currently weighs about 7 pounds and her coat is medium to long hair so she will benefit from regular brushing which she enjoys. She loves belly rubs and will happily sit on your lap but sometimes she prefers to do that on her own time. She’s super independent (she had to be after being outside and pregnant) but she still LOVES attention. If her kittens were getting more attention than she was, she would meow loudly for her turn to be petted but her meow is actually more like a trill and fun to hear. In her foster mom’s words, she could run her own biscuit factory if she wanted and she loves making “air biscuits” when she gets her belly rubbed. She is a very social cat and greets anyone who comes to visit. Although we’ve never seen her with children, it seems like she would do well with them as long as they understand cat boundaries as he foster dad will often pick her up and flip her into a baby hold and she never gets upset with it. She has never been with dogs so that’s a big unknown. While she did great with her kittens, it’s unclear how she will be with other cats – she was pretty protective of her kittens and wasn’t a fan of the resident cats in her foster home and became aggressive with them. She may prefer a home without other cats. Robin is extremely playful and her favorite toy is the bird wand. She could carry that around in her mouth for quite awhile. She can sometimes get overstimulated with play and could nip your hand so it’s important to be cautious but it’s easy to learn her cues. Robin is fine being picked up and she likes to climb on your shoulder if you’ll let her. We don’t know if she would sleep with someone but it seems likely because she loves sitting next to her person. Just like all Reuben’s Room cats, Robin will need to be an indoor only cat. Robin is super outgoing and a beautiful cat. If you enjoy a playful, loving cat who also likes to chirp while talking to you, then Robin is the gal for you!
