With her gorgeous chocolate neck ruffle and her long, silky black fur coat, this calendar kitty knows she can command the world with her luminous golden eyes. We named her Sambuca after the exotic, anise-flavored Italian liqueur that is often set on fire to create a flaming drink. Her personality is just as fiery and as bold. Sambuca knows exactly what she wants and beware anyone who dares deny her anything. She also has very specific likes and dislikes when it comes to being petted. Improper petting will earn the caregiver contempt and a harsh feline scolding. Despite being abandoned at the tender age of six months, this little girl knows life on the outside is NOT for her. When you are blessed with huge, glowing, golden eyes and a fur coat that requires daily maintenance, it's time to find a palace with devoted caregivers to keep those locks supple and mat-free. In return, Sambuca will offer loving head butts, and she will prance around her human's legs and twirl her gorgeous tail in appreciation of their devotion. Due to the high maintenance of her long, luxurious coat, we are searching for adopters who are well-versed in brushing and caring for exotic, long-haired cat species. Sambuca is also bossy and very alpha in personality. We prefer that she goes to a home where she will be the only queen and supreme ruler of her household. This is a kitty that demands respect so she is not suited for a household with small children. Please note the following: We always do vet reference checks and we WILL NOT adopt kittens or cats into household where the residential pets are unvaccinated. This is to ensure the safety of BOTH our kitten/cat and your current pets. We also only adopt locally and will reserve the right to deny Meet and Greet as our volunteers cannot do any home visits if the distance is too great.
