Would you like to have your very own African wildcat? Just kidding. Samira is your average domestic short hair. She does, however, have markings and coloring that resemble a wildcat. Unlike most brown tabbies, her coat is more beige than grayish, and her stripes are broken up, like on a ticked tabby. The black on her tail contrasts sharply with the rest of her coat.
Prior to coming to our rescue in November, Samira spent her entire life living outside. She, and many other kittens, lived on a block over from a person whom we work with, and who feeds the neighborhood strays. We offered to trap the kittens earlier in the year, but the people who live on that block refused to let us do it. So when Samira and her brother, Dusty, showed up on our contact's deck for food, she made sure to befriend them, and once she was able to pet them, she captured them.
Samira is still a little shy, but also very brave. She allows pets all over her body and loves head scratches. We are sure she will blossom in a home where she gets more one on one attention. She and Dusty play together occasionally, but they are not bonded. They could, but don't have to be, adopted together. Samira gets along great with other cats.
Samira is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and has been dewormed. She is FIV/FeLV negative. Her adoption fee is $145.
