Due to her guardian’s recent passing, Smokey is now seeking a forever home! Local police officers were responding to a DOA when they discovered Smokey in September. With no family to taker her in, the police officers turned to the apartment manager. This person heartlessly suggested to just dump her outside or let her expire in the unit and they would dispose of her when they cleaned out the apartment. Thankfully, one of the officers couldn’t do that, deciding instead to reach out to any/every rescue/shelter. We were the 12th organization contacted, and we just couldn’t turn her away.
Smokey is a beautiful and sweet girl with a heart as big as her 15-pound frame. Per the neighbor, she’s about 6 years old, and she’s a Korat. Korats are intelligent, affectionate, and form strong bonds with their owners. This gentle giant is the epitome of sweetness and tranquility, always ready to offer a quiet purr and a soft nuzzle. Smokey gets along well with other friendly cats and would thrive in a serene environment where she can feel safe and cherished.
Smokey has been spayed and microchipped, she is current on vaccines, and she has tested negative for FIV/FeLV.
