What my friends at ACC say about me: Sonny was in the den in loaf position, alert, sniffed and ate squeeze up, stretching his head out slightly, but not coming fully out of the side door. Then squeeze up was offered through the front door and he again stretched his head out to eat. He didn't come farther forward. He accepted all petting and in time, warmed up and started leaning in for cheek rubbing and with more time stretched out further to get more treats and petting. While his head was stretched out, his ears went sideways, but continued to allow petting. He's a sweet cat who needs time to warm up. Sonny interacts with the observer, solicits & appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior.
