My Story

Moving to a new rental home is always an adventure. Imagine the surprise when you go to the basement and discover that someone had "accidentally" left three young cats behind. Fortunately, the new renter reached out to the shelter and the kitties were brought to us. SQUEAK was quickly adopted and did very well with her new family. She enjoyed the play, the cuddles she received and loved "chilling out in the tub" (empty tub of course). However, the family recently started a daycare in the home, and SQUEAK did not react well to the chaos. As a result, she did not always make it to her litter box. SQUEAK is very sweet, loves to be petted and will come right up for some loving. In her new room, SQUEAK may hang back just a bit to allow her roommates to get the first pets, but she doesn't wait too long before she gets in close for her share of pets and snuggles! SQUEAK did well with the family dog, so she should adjust to a doggie friend who is non-aggressive or rambunctious. Given how friendly she is, SQUEAK would also do fine with children who are old enough to understand that kittens and young cats can be overstimulated during playtime resulting in scratches and hard nips. Most cats also do not want to be squeezed, so may not like hugs. Apparently, suddenly having several kiddos around overwhelmed her. SQUEAK had not had a problem with the litterbox before, and given time to adjust, she probably would have stopped having an issue. But circumstances didn't give her the time she needed to become use to the new dynamics in the house. SQUEAK has had enough upheaval in her short life and deserves a stable home, perhaps with older children and less chaos. SQUEAK deserves a permanent home with a family all their own!
